Give it away give it away give it away now…
So. I’m cleaning out my studio (slowly – too slowly) and have a ton of stuff that I need to offload. From my old scrapping days, from my old Sculpey clay days, from my old altered art days, from my old art quilting day (that was a short one). Some I’m ebaying, some I’m donating, and some I just move around ’cause I don’t know what to do with it.
Then there’s the art I’ve made that I don’t know what to do with… Either it’s not perfect, or I don’t know who would love it, or I can’t think of the right gallery for it, and since I haven’t exactly been flooding the internet with my original art for sale, I’m gonna give some away.
We’ll start with this one, “She Counts 112 Blessings Every Day”. It’s an older piece, done on a 5 x 7 board – maybe that’s why I never tried to sell it… ’cause it’s not on canvas. Anyhoo, to enter the giveaway, leave a comment here telling me what blessing you count the biggest. Comments will close on Tuesday May 5 at midnight EST, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday!

Thankful for the biggest blessing? That would be HEALTH. Having been without it for several years, having it back is truly a blessing. I thank God, the Universe, and EVERYTHING every single day for health. Here’s to yours!

I can’t imagine picking the biggest blessing except to say God’s grace, forgiveness and newness each day despite everything I do poorly or not kindly (not that I’m like that all of the time, but it’s nice to know I have a fresh start daily).

I gotta say, my biggest blessing is a toss up between the hubster and a large Dove bar. I’m serious! In support of the hubster… goodness, I’m lucky. He supports my glitter habit, my continued desire to work on one degree after another, my piles of books and crafty items all over the house. He takes good care of the doggies when I’m not at home, washes dishes, always does the laundry, tells me he loves me at least once a day. The Dove bar? Chocolate cannot ever be overrated. Seriously. Have you tried Dove bars? They are sooo creamy and decadent. Dove needs to manufacuture one-pounders of these. <> I wonder if Hubby would run to the store for some chocolate for his wifey-poo…

My biggest blessings, without a doubt, is my beloved brave mother, who has been dying in slow motion for over four years, battling Multiple Myeloma. She is almost 83 and has been taken off all meds and the doctor said it could be a matter of weeks. Through the worst of the worst of the worst whenever you called her and asked how she was she said, “Every day’s a good day, it is what you make it.” and now as death is near she is peaceful, calm, a woman of deep faith and ready to go, and still every day’s a good day. My mother has left a legacy for my children and grandchild and everyone that knows her by her bright, brave, strong spirit, her refusal to let the cancer beat her down but to live as fully and wholly as possible through it all. All that having been said, it is no wonder that my dear mother, who will leave me soon, is my greatest blessing.

Oh wow, Allison! This is the very first lady bird that drew me into lady bird land! I was looking for a way to honor my very greatest blessing – my mom, when I came across your shop. I love this piece! I count at least 112 blessings every day, and at least 90 of them are my mom. I would be absolutely thrilled to win this original work of art for her! Crossing my fingers!

My biggest blessing in my life right now, is Matt’s heart. The HUGE space that is occupied by the love he has only for me, every day, every night. Unconditionally. I have never been loved like this before. It has been worth the 50 year wait. any art, all art by Allison will be a blessing to me, too!

I *think* all the same blessings mentioned from the other very articulate folks, but mine is very simply stated – one of my thousands of blessings is the joy when I see your art. When I ran across your Etsy shop, I knew I couldn’t afford everything I wanted, and now, I’ve given it to so many of my friends. They tell me how much joy it has given them, too. So thanks for the blessing of joy. I’d love to have the 112 Blessings in my stewdio to help me remember that joy each day.

I am most thankful for my reproductive endocrinologist! Without him I would not have my (mostly) wonderful twins. A day doesn’t go by that I am not thankful for the richness these children bring to my life!

Greatest blessing, singular? You mean I have to pick just one???
I’ve been feeling so much gratitude in my life this past year. I’m so lucky to have the love of a good man, a family who loves me, new jobs for Husband and I, a voice to sing with, and the twinkle in my eye of the as yet unknown child who will become ours through the miracle called ADOPTION.

biggest blessing EVER–my family.
My parents gave me the gift of raising me surrounded by crazy love, joy and whimsy–while bestowing a bone-deep understanding of the need to work and to help and to honour.
My husband is the sweetest, most loving man in the land–and he actually GETS me–always has, always will.
My daughter–oh, my daughter! My witty, brilliant, wild, confident, gorgeous daughter. She just, well, sparkles.
Yup. I’m a lucky girl! And I know it….

My greatest blessing is the gift of my grandkiddoes. I always thought it couldn’t get better than it was being the mom of 3 wonderful kids — but (just as we’ve all heard for years) grandma-hood is the best. It’s not another chance at mom-hood (they have a mom — a very good mom) but it’s an opportunity to love without limits. It’s a wonderful gift.

My blessing would be my senses. Without them I would not be able to appreciate art, read hundreds of books, learn more about the world around me, taste everything I try, smell lilacs in spring, horses in the summer, leaves burning in fall, and all the scents of winter…..

Dear LadyBird Allison,
My greatest blessing? Simply put… being born, being grown, being silly, being sad, being happy, being thoughtful, being a friend, being thankful, being giving, being resourceful, being a bunco babe, being humble, being artsy…
Just BEING!

My greatest blessing is my mind. My imagination, my thoughts, my silliness, my wisdom, my logic, my talents and my planning. I use each of these every day in the service of the people around me, so I consider my mind to not only be MY blessing, but one for my family and friends as well.

I just gave birth to my fourth child on May the 1st and right now I would have to say that my biggest blessing is my children and the awesome responsibility that God has granted me in having them and raising them….children are indeed blessings from above and a wonderful opportunity to grow in every aspect but especially in showing God’s love for us and for one another. What little miracles we all are. Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Hi Allison! I know this giveaway is over, but I wanted you to know my blessing anyways! My biggest blessing in life is that I found the online art community! It came after a serious car accident and a two month stint in physical rehab (which include making ART!). Finding amazing, supportive women like you in this community has truly made my life a beautiful thing! We are so supportive of each other and I think that is so important! You just cannot know how happy it makes me to receive sweet, supportive comments like you left on my blog about my latest digital art! Especially from someone SO VERY TALENTED!! Wowzers, I’ve been smiling for days! Heh Heh! Anyways, thank you for being a part of my every day blessing of being alive and exploring my creativity! You are too cool!
