Oooh, wood!

So, I had a bunch of wood boxes made for me to paint on, and this is the first one. It’s about 12 inches wide, for reference. It was a BLAST to work on the wood – my canvases may have to go. Not really.

The subject of this piece is a cowgirl made for Brene Brown. She one of those scary smart girls, very ejjacated with lots of degrees from college. She’s an activist, an author and an advocate for us girls. Brene recently completed two books: “WholeHearted: Adventures in Ordinary Courage and Everyday Authenticity” and “The WholeHearted Family: 15 Guideposts for Raising Children with Courage, Compassion, and Connection.”

Brene is hosting a book read along, and in conjunction with that a giveaway. That’s where I come in! On Friday two pendants and two prints of this image will be given away – so head over and say “Hi” to Brene for me!
